I also hope that Stephen's family haven't been too affected by all of this at an already difficult time. Since writing this, making my complaint and letting it all sink in, I've realised that I have had quite a personal response to this. It made me think about my uncle, and although his death was much more complicated than Stephen's, it was still not because he was gay (actually in the end it was MRSA). How dare anyone suggest that a gay lifestyle is a reason for inevitable death? Anyway I've said my piece. And Charlie Brooker and Stephen Fry have said it so much better. But in future I won't just rant about the Daily Mail I will complain whenever it offends me. Maybe it can have some impact. I hope so.
