I guess it’s whatever works for you. Nearly all my friends, and now my dad, siblings, aunts and cousins are on Facebook so it’s an easy way to share photos of events. But like you said if family don’t use Facebook then Flickr is the obvious place to share pictures. I know people who put all their photos on both. I suppose that I am lucky to have nearly everyone I’d like to share pictures with on Facebook so I have the luxury of being able to make the distinction.

That’s an interesting comment that you’ve made about the relationship between Flickr and Facebook. I’ve always been conscious that I’ve been posting material on Flickr where I’m not happy with the quality, but have been persuaded to upload so that distant family can view. As a very recent, and somewhat reluctant recruit to Facebook (what can I post which people might be interested in …?) I think I’ll follow your suggestion of posting the family interest photos there and keep Flickr for my better work.
