Five… things I’ve coveted in 2009

23 December 2009 No Comment

My next installment of ‘Five…‘ is the things that have caught my eye in 2009 or that I’ve lusted after. But things that on my current budget I just have to accept that I don’t need. As there’s still a couple of days until Christmas I thought I’d just put things out there in the hope that Santa fancies a spot of last minute Christmas shopping!

1. Louboutins & Louboutin Barbie
Carrie Bradshaw may be a Blahnik Babe, but I’m most certainly a Louboutin Lady. It’s as if Christian Louboutin reads my mind about all the beautiful things I would like a shoe to be and then creates it. Lady Lynch Strass from the 2010 collection is my currently top of my “Things I want” list… a position that’s previously been held by Anemone Pigalle.

I didn’t think I would ever want a Barbie again but by teaming up with Christian Louboutin on a special project I suddenly want one more than ever! (I know that shoes + barbie is technically TWO things… but I’m counting it as one!)

2. Quirky things
Bringing the price tag down a whole bunch of stuff from the likes of Fred & Friends, Think Geek & Knock Knock. The problem I have here is that there are lots of little bits I want, but none of it that a NEED.  I wish I’d spotted the Knock Knock Personal Library Kit in time to get it for my brother-in-law for Christmas!

3. Little Factory Number Placemats
Something I don’t need… but I really really want. Earlier this year I was placemat shopping and discovered that it is very hard to find nice placemats for a reasonable price. These are perfect and might still move from the want to the need list in the very near future.

4. Victoria Secret PINK
Last November in NYC I went to Victoria Secret for the first time. I also went for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th… you get the impression. In the week we were over there I went at least once a day. There are many many things I could buy (and have bought!) in VS but the thing I love the most are their Foldover Yoga Pants. I brought two pairs back with me to the UK and they have been worn over & over again. Since I’ve been back I’ve purchase other comfy bottoms but there are none that fit and feel like my PINK ones. Every time I’m tempted to buy another pair the cost of shipping puts me off… but with the January sales only days away I think it might be time to get some more!

5. American Soda
I’ll admit my wishlist has a hint of an American theme. There’s just so much cool stuff that I discovered on both trips over there that I miss being able to easily buy. Most of it is inexpensive. And I’d just like to be able to get my hands on it minus shipping and tax. It’s probably a good thing I can’t easily get my hands on Peanut Butter M&Ms. And I’ll never understand why they stopped selling Lucky Charms in the UK. But websites like American Soda mean you can satisfy your American cravings in the UK. Even with the convenience I can’t justify spending quite so much on candy!
